Default Road King replacement windscreen

The stock windscreen on my 2103 Road King cracked at one of the mounting holes, and I need to replace it. I am 5'11" and the stock is about 2" too tall for me to see over without stretching. I don't like that when the screen gets buggy, or in the rain. I'm considering one of these options:

1) Klock Werks Billboard Flare 19.5" (tall)
2) Clearview Recurve 18.5"
3) Long Ride Shield Re-Curve Elite 18"

I'd appreciate any comments on buffeting, eye-height, if the wider Klock Werks offers additional protection for the hands, and if the recurve causes much distortion.

I found a lot of positive comments on these brands, but would appreciate any specifics, especially from someone about my height. Thanks!

Cheers,
Doc

I went with the Clearview smoked recurve. I look over mine so I don't notice any distortion.

I also went with the vented version. If I had it to do over, I'd probably skip the vent because I'm not real sure how often I'll use it. Haven't hit the real warm season yet so I may be glad I got it later on in the summer.

Clearview is awesome to work with. Ask for Craig. He's great except he's a Broncos fan ....

Go Hawks!

Sorry Doc. Forgot to mention .... The recurve did not reduce all the buffeting but when paired with the fork fangs, it's perfect.

Hi Doc, I also have 2013 Road king and I am 6 foot tall. The stock shield was a bit too tall for me so I went for the LRS 18" Re-Curve Road King Elite PolyCarbonate Shield. Easy to clean, its the right height to see over and still give me great wind protection. I also went with the fork fangs and it cut out almost all the wind. I am pretty sure they have 60 percent off there normal price so it would be good time to get with them.

My experience with the LRS Elite recurve is, even at my height of 6'2" the 17" shield is tall enough to provide good protection from buffeting.

I have tried a few different height and styles and for ME the best by far has been the Klockwerks. I got it used here for a smoking deal. It works better than the Batwing does.

The top of your windshield should equal the "tip" of your nose as you are seated in the riding position on your bike.

"Fangs" and a fork "Air Baffle" can reduce some buffeting but not all.

Awesome, thanks guys!

I bought fork fangs and air baffle on my way through Denver, the semis were nearly blowing my helmet off. They helped a lot (the picture below was taken in Kansas on that trip).

Leaning towards the LRS Elite recurve, 17" or 18".

How tall are you bigheadted, and what size screen?

I think HD also has a shorter shield. Their price is surprisingly competitive.

I am 6'3" and I am pretty sure it is the 16.5 inch tall one. I got it real fair priced here on the forums and figured to try it. I was very shocked at how well it creates the air pocket . It just works good.
However if I get another it will be the taller one. I discovered in the rain I get hit with too much water when the drops are big. . I prefer my windshield to be right about eye level . Since I have several windshields I will just pop on the tall one if rain is a sure thing.

I am done looking for a different windshield as the Billboard is to me the best I ever tried. Well unless I find a smoking deal here !! hahaha.

FWIW I have the between the fork air baffle and have been running one for many years, it works too, I can puff a cigar on the backroads under 55 mph without having ashes blowing up in my eyes !!haha. Also have the fork fangs but rarely use them.
