Default Ditched the autotune

I took my fresh 107 out for a few dyno pulls at the local poker run this morning. I was pretty disappointed with my auto-tuned map that felt really good on the old but dyno. I ran home and put the VE table from the map Fuelmoto had sent me and tried again with much better results. Not too shabby for using a canned map. I'm going to have it tuned later this year hoping to break the 120 mark.

Cometic .040 MLS Head Gasket
FuelMoto Level B Heads
Woods 777 cams

Was your first tune a basic auto tune from the OEM tune....? When you loaded the FuelMoto supplied MAP, did load the entire tune to include the spark advance settings or just the VE tables?

If you used the Basic Auto-tune feature (OEM, narrow band O2 sensors), it really only helps to dial in a close map...

You need to use wide band O2 sensors (like the auto-tune Pro unit) to get good results from an OEM map when adding cams....

Glad you got it sorted out...... I suspect if you do a basic auto-tune on the FuelMoto map, you'll get even better results....

I had run several auto-tunes using the auto-tune pro against the map FM gave me. WOT runs wanted to remove a lot of fuel in the upper MAP areas. I may run a basic tune in the cruise areas.

I don't think auto tune likes the CFRs much.

You're right. I've run several sessions of AT. My CFR's snap crackle & pops all of the time. I called FM and the guy said people call all the time with the same issue with our beloved CFR's. The only way to stop the popping sound is to get a new muffler.

CFR's don't tune well. But that's the cost we pay...

I just started using "Target Tune" which is suppose to work better than "auto tune pro" and It's night and day better than my dyno tuned dealer map.

OP, there is no way a 107 with cams and headwork should only be getting 90hp. You didn't list what clutch your using, any chance it's slipping?

You still need to set your TIMING in the MAPs . Auto tune is for air / fuel mix only.

I'm using an AIM clutch. I haven't felt any slipping.
