I have wrapped a set of drag pipes once.
Soak wrap in water, Wrap from the rear of the pipe to the front. This will keep the overlap so that the wind won't catch it and start pulling it apart. There are some good videos on Youtube showing how this is done. After it is installed start the bike and let it heat up so that it evaporated the water out of the wrap. (this is the fun part when the bike looks like it is up in smoke)
IDK about that - if you bike is mostly stock it'll look like you had to put bandages on leaky pipes. Wrap is a styling statement that goes with a drag bike look. There are millions of heat shields out there that don't rattle...
i have the titanium on my 09 sg. its under the heat shields, only see it in a few places. i did it to try and help keep the heat off my right leg in the summer. put it on in the middle of last summer, seemed to help some, but its not a day light and dark kind of thing. order it offline its about 1/2 the price of retail stores around here. i had no rattles before or after. definitely use the stainless steel wire ties.
Thanks everyone, trying to decide between the Fiberglass and the Titanium.
Seems like the Titanium is a better product, but they don't recommend spraying the Titanium with the silicone coating. I like the idea of spraying with the coating, both to give it a better look, and to provide some protection.
Anyone have experience using both types, and spraying, or not spraying with the silicone coating?
