Default falling bars fix

I have a 2000 ultra classic and the handle bars were strapped down too tight by the previous owner and bent the right side down a little, also I have noticed that the bars have fallen down about 1-2 inches. so I have bought a set of w0575's new poly bushings and the solid top plate wo538. the cross cuts in the bottom risers is questionable. My question is will the new top clamp be sufficient to hold the new bars in place?

If it were me I would go ahead and swap out the risers while you have the fairing off. It's not that much more $$ for the piece of mind. Also might save you from having to pull the fairing again. That can be a real pain in the a$$.

Just get the Yaffe solid top clamp which has 3 allen set screws which when tightened down will dimple the bars and prevent any slippage in your clamps. Even with 14" bars I get no slippage at all.

I ordered the 1 from wild ones which was what they recommended ,doesn't have set screws. Does the bottom clamp have very deep cross cuts on the stock riser. I even thought of using the dremel and cross cutting it myself,.

The riser and clamp isn't cross cut. The part of the bar that sets in the riser is knurled. When clamped, the knurling on the bar keeps it in position.

I am extremely glad to hear that. that would explain the lower part not having any cuts in it.

Buddy of mine had this issue on his springer, which has bastard risers and clamps. He took it to HD and the fix they used is red locktite on the knurled part under the riser clamp. Worked for him.
