will 2016 RG/SG shocks fit on a 2008 Ultra?

They would probably fit but they might be a different length. Is the 15/16 bike an ultra?

2008 was the cross over year for the new frame it did not have the new frame but some of the other changes.
The parts number say NO they are not the same. The frames changed in 2009 and it was a major change.

Yes, they will. It will lower your bike in the rear, some say the shorter shocks (even the hand adjustables) ride stiffer. People are retrofitting hand adjustables on pre 08 bikes, same frame as your 08.

Don't waste your money. I had them on my bike from the factory and it feels like a piece of schedule 40 pipe holding you up. They only have like 2.5 inches of travel too. Call Howard at motorcycle metal. His #2s are just about the same money as the HD premium shocks but it's an incredible shock.

I tried the low profile air shocks. They rode like crap. I was hoping these were better.

They might be better but definitely $550 better. You'll be much happier with spending a little more and having Howard set you up

yeah, I wouldn't pay $550 for them unless I could return them if I didn't like them. I saw fairly new set for 1/2 price.
