I agree, mine does the same thing. I just turn up the stereo.

Mine did that. Before I got my tires changed. When I got my tires changes I also got bent rotors. When I replaced the rotors with mirrored ones I also cleaned the brake Pistons real well, either the cleaning or the new rotors completely solved the problem, no noise at all....except in the rear which remains dirty and stock.

Well guess what? I took the bike into the local dealer and had them flush the front and rear systems. No more noise except of course when the brakes are applied. I'm happy big time and there is absolutely no play in the brake handle now either. I never would have guessed it.

thanks all for the advice.

I dunno...I just did front and rear pads on my 2010 FLHR and bled/replaced the DOT4 fluid. They still rub, irritating as hell.

Was looking around here for similar posts. Rear rubbing enough to heat up the rotor a bit (not bad....not like a truly STUCK caliper...I've had that before....you could fry eggs on that....this is just warmer to the touch than I'd like.

Get caliper rebuild kits. Super easy and will likely solve your problem. Just did all mine and zero drag now.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR the noise came back. I would pull the pads and clean around the cylinder but can someone tell me what tool you use to get the shoe pins out? I don't have any kind of socket. Looks like perhaps a nine mm 10 point head but I cant find a tool that works.

Beware a sticking caliper piston.

When everything is in perfect working order, the pad will just faintly slide along rotor, making barely any sound at all. At most, a soft "shhh" sound.

When a caliper piston is sticking, the pad typically gets cocked a little bit. This can put a pad edge against the rotor, making a scraping sound as well sometimes a cicada like "wrr".

Not sure what bike you have Cajun1957a....2010 Touring uses an 11mm 12 pt on the front caliper bolts and, if I remember right, a 5mm allen on the brake pad pin.

I had tires installed and my front brakes rubbed afterward. After researching I found that there is a hole in the axel where you use a 7 /16 inch drill bit to space the forks properly. Fixed my problem

How about chamfering the edges on the pads, that has worked for me on
other bikes I have owned
