well i said i would never do it but what the he11 i went ahaed and bought a 07 and in some ways i wished i would have waited and in others im happy i did it. the only reason i did was because with a 2 year warrenty i think it will be all ironed out in that time frame. this is my first HD and love it except for the problems wit the whine and bucket of bolts but ive learned to not pay much attention to it ( mine must be as bad as others). i guess the only problem ive had with this hole thing is i dont feel that MOCO is trying to do much about the problem that some are having and to me that not good buisness.
My bike was indeed a guinea pig for HD.Some other owners also were.Isnt it funny how these guys working for dealerships no longer chime in about this noise?Isnt it funny how C/S tells everyone basically the same thing?Yet secretly HD has tried to quiet the most vocal?Once you go after HD legally they will no longer speak w/you-Big loss, what have they done so far?-Many of you guys live in the same state and should get together-email wise-and file w/your states attorney general. The more the better!HD isnt living up to the warranty they say you have. They are not giving owners paperwork that shows item was documented. They are takingyour legal claim against them away from you. Some dealers have gone beyond what the MoCo would allow.Maybe some of these magazines will listen to their membership instead of their now biggest advertiser. Not many magazines even tested the 07 tourers?Wonder why!
guinea pig?,,, may be an over statement. HD has been makeing vertually the same bike for 100+ years! Ilook at it likeI just got luckey and bought one that happen to havea few improvements. Right??
First year models of anything...new cars, trucks, outboards. All the manufacturers do this. It would cost them MILLIONS to test the vehicles and models. The only folks that HAVE to test to the limits are the airplane makers.

i under stand what your saying here but it looks like they would treat you better on fixing items on your bike that are the problem that they made like the primary whine. the one problem i have is they make airplane test and re-test because it a matter of life or death but i would think on 2 wheels if there is a problem it could be a matter of life or death.

well, you asked for it. you (or someone like you cused me of being a hd troll before. to be honest, wish i was, i would have saved a ton of money on the two 07s that i bought. i seriously doubt you were a guinea pig. hd has a very serious r&d dept (desert proving ground in yuma sound familiar?). i really doubt they are waiting on reports from you for any of that. fact is, none of the 07s that i know of around here have the problems that you have. does that mean that you aren't having them? no, i think its just not as prevalent as you claim it to be.
as far as magazine tests on the 07s, i saw as many test the 07s as i did the 06s, and the 05s before that.....
i don't 'chime in' on every one of these posts, but with your challenge, i had to.
