I have a 94 RK. I want to stay with the crossovers. I'm so damn tired of hitting a wall every time I look for exhaust systems. All the good stuff picks up at 1995, the 94 has barely nothing to offer. I was told that all I have to do for slip ons is to change the hangers under the bags. Is this right? What's involved?
no in 1995 a flange was added ( or taken away..I can;t remember and am away from home and my shed full of pipes...(someone like GRBrown will remember).
if your header has a flange at the end, just cut it off.

That'll be me! Exhausts up to '94 [corrected from: around 93/94/95] had a strange flanged design, where the muffler joins the headers. Later exhausts use the conventional design of slip-ons, but new and old designs don't work together. You can however saw off the flared part of your headers, to use later slip-ons.
An alternative is to simply buy a set of later headers, which will bolt-right on and allows you to buy any aftermarket slip-ons. Headers up to '08 will fit. The system on my '90 bike is for an '08.
