I know it goes in at a angle and sometimes is a bear to get threads started.

Is this the small chromed cap screw that that is best installed with a ball end Allen key due to the ignition switch being in the way? If so, yes it goes in at a slight angle. I say remove the console and try to thread it in by hand. I have an 09 and replaced my rusting cap screw with a polished stainless Allen button head. Now that was a pain to get started. I think I still have the old screw. I can check the size later and let you know what I find.

It takes a 5/32 Allen key. 1/2" long, thread pitch is 24 and the bolt size is a 10 or 12. My chart only goes to 1/4" and up. Good luck.

2375 is the part number, it goes into a spring clip I am sure, it is probably a 1/4-20 thread that's the standard size on the bike. I'll look in my parts manual when I get home
