Default Road King Custom bags on a Road King Classic?

Just curious if anyone is running the RK Custom bags on a RK Classic? If so please post a pic or two.

Also is there a size difference in the two bags? It appears to me the Custom bags are larger and hug closer to the frame than the Classic bags do.

If by "custom" bags you mean the standard hard bags a look at any Road King will show you how they look. I bought an 08 Classic and part of the deal was to turn it back into a standard Road King. I did not like the leather covered bags, the slash up exhaust and the spoke wheels. I now have the hard bags, square cut mufflers and cast wheels. Later I put the amber front fender tip light on, all that is missing now is the red rear fender tip light. It all fit with no probelms. Now only the sharpest Harley people detect the Classic tank Medallion on an otherwise standard King. Sorry I have no pics and don't know how to post one anyway.

As long as the road king you want to put the them on is 08 and down. The custom bags will not fit on a 09 up. I tried a set on my 2012 and thats a negative ghost rider.

My bike is an 09. Why wouldn't they fit your bike? Was it just an issue with adjusting the mounting brackets? I was told that all the touring saddlebags and mounting hardware are all the same from '93-'13...

Any 95-13 touring bag, whether hard locking or leather covered will interchange. The top mounts are fully adjustable and often need to be loosened and adjusted when coming from a different bike. I assume your looking to change bags for locking and security issues? That seems to be getting pretty common now a days as ebay is full of used Classic bags. I'm actually hoping to get a super cheap set of the leather style for my bike one day, just to change up the look...... on occasion.

Had a 2004 Custom. Never liked the bags, and when the latch broke on one, your only recourse was to buy another bag. The after market locks are not easy to work with either. I went to hard bags. I bought a set of police bags. GF liked the fact that they were easy to open and get drinks, gloves etc without stopping. Replaced the pucks with flush mount latches. Looked great imo.

On the new bikes only the front mount is adjustable. You can get one of the pins to line up, but not the other.
