Default New position

Alright, so I had my new apes installed a month ago. I hit a couple of bad bumps in the road, and the bars shifted down on me. Tonight, I re adjusted them. More forward than before. Of course now, the windsheild wont fit on, but I will either modify the one I have, or buy a shorter sheild. Thinking about one of those smoke ones. Anyways, how do you all feel about the look of the bars pushed more forward? It is 2:30 am here, so I adjusted them and took some snaps. Will ride it this weekend. But, I think regardless, I like the new position better. Just looking for opions.

It is more about where you are comfortable than what looks good to me. It looks good either way IMO

Unless your 5 foot nothing and need the bars pulled back as far as the w/shield requires I dont know how you could be comfortable like that. Everytime I ride a customers bike with 18's and a shieldit feels like getting in my wifes Jeep with the seat all the way forward. Besides the bike looks better without the shield anyways. In the end ITS YOUR BIKE do what YOU want.

When you changed the bars - Did you also change the upper handlebar brace???

HD's are JUNK and it's ALWAYS recommended to change the upper brace as they sometimes will come loose over & over again???

Pushed forward. I biased though. My 18's are pushed forward some. Gives the bike
a better look, imho.

SoCal, yeah the top piece is a one piece deal. The stock is two (I was told). I tightened them up, trying not to over tighten, and put some thread loc, just in case. I will know later on, if what I did was good enough.

I think it looks cool, but I can not see how it could possibly be comfortable to ride. As far as the bars shifting back, its because they are acting as levers when you hit a bump. Think of it like this, when you have a bolt stuck, you get a piece of pipe and slide over the end of the wrench, which gives you more leverage. Same concept with your bars.
