I just demoed one today. And In not liking the slouched ergos. Not sure why you guys think that is cool, but bad posture is makes for very short rides. Im an upright type of guy.

The plus side is no buffeting just a little wind noise. Which is awesome for those that were Full Face helmets. So it is a little louder with the wind kicking in here or there.

Taller bars make it more comfortable for me as well, but would have to say that's the same with most any bike in the line up. I did an 1800 mile trip with stock bars. I survived

Switched from my Breakout to my Road Glide Special and there is just no looking back. As previously said, it took a little bit of getting used to but man what a machine! Did 125 miles on it today and it was fantastic. Aside from getting another bike for short runs in the future I will be sitting in RG's for quite awhile. Good luck!

They are both nice IMHO. Just depends on what you like, I like the classic look of the SG. But that's not saying I wouldn't enjoy riding a RG.

The factory-stock windshield is essentially useless.

If you want real "wind protection", get a taller one.

Makes the stereo "hear-able", too.

The front end is way heavier on the road (not on the grips, but the tire) than the batwing. I love the side profile of the shark, but looks aren't doing anything for you when touring. Best of luck to you.
Hard to hear the stereo with your head up your ***! I can hear mine rolling 80 down the I-10. The front end is heavier WHAT? where did you get that from?

First RG test ride for me I found the stereo pretty useless. Anything over 45 I couldn't hear the radio due to all of the wind noise right at the top of my helmet. With a 13" Freedom Shield it is much better but still may try a slightly taller shield.

As for a heavy front end, don't feel much different to the road king I traded in on the Glide

I find the full line of HD Touring bikes to be very nimble and none feel as heavy as their actual weight.

Default 1st Harley

I bought my first Harley Road Glide after never riding one. I also have a M109 and really enjoy the ride of the Road Glide. It rides like any other bike to me

I picked up a new 2015 Road Glide Special last week after nearly 30 years of sportbikes, a couple sport touring bikes, and then a Big Dog K9..

Add me to the list of fellow riders who "wish I would have bought a Road Glide sooner"..

I'm impressed with how stable these bikes are at speed......For as big as they are they do handle pretty well...The GPS and stereo are a bit of a learning curve for me with all those menus, but I'm catching on slowly..

If you (or anyone else) is a taller rider the RG would be a great choice IMO.
