Sorry doing this on my phone waiting for appointment
Pretty easy just notch air filter housing to let line aim down
Than push some 3/16 brake line in hose
Than just push the 1/4 line over the 3/16
Drill a hole in bottom were t is. Run line to your favorite exit spot
I run it forward and down under with the gas filter inline
Ride it 309 miles after I did it. Nice and clean Never smelled oil all day yesterday in
85 degree heat
Also didn't have time to wait for silicone to
Dry for air filter hole. So pushed a 1/4 bolt in hole and put a very small tig weld on
But silicone works for 99% of the guys that do out
Use the black silicone mushroom it out on outside end
Leave it set till next day
Not for everybody but works for us cheap batards

Pretty clean and neat system. Cost?
Nothing for me. Maybe 4-5 bucks. Most guys. Can't even see it and no oil on tire

I used a filter like that and it didn't breath. So straight to the ground with hose now. Have you noticed the last couple of breather threads, the one was up yesterday.

I have used the same filter on everything from race care rear ends to motorcycle motors. No problems on this end for the last 40 years But I do run them with filter side toward ground
I would leave it with no filter if I didn't run on dirt roads a bunch. Lol
Didn't notice So much going on here it rolls off quick. They do it same way? Not that it matters

What is the purpose of this mod, why would I want to do it?

So the engine can breath clean cool air and make more power. It also cuts way down on the amount of carbon build-up on the back of the valves, top of the pistons, inside of the throttle body, and keeps that nasty oil out of the air filter.
