LASTE TIME!

If your serious about reducing engine heat then simply install an ultracool oil cooler with twin elec cooling fans along with Wards twin cooling fans (targets cooling heads & upper cyls) and that will do the trick.

Both those cooling mods working collectively together reduced oil temp 50deg f in summer heat which will get you the relief from excessive heat your looking for.

And if your bike already has an oil cooler without cooling fans it's just about useless/not effective when needed most like when your in traffic in summer heat @ stoplights or in slower moving traffic where an oil cooler without cooling fans is just about useless or at the very least it's efficiency is significantly reduced which results in just what your experiencing which is " excessive engine heat " roasting you on the bike while significantly reducing engine perf in multiple way due to the excessive engine heat.

Also keep in mind 1 of the oils jobs is to also cool the motor too so when the 2 mods in installed reduced oil temp 50deg f in summer heat that also had to of significantly reduced engine heat @ the same time oil temp was reduced 50deg f too.

But just how much engine temp was reduced i cant say for sure because all i have on my 09 flhtcu is HD's stock oil temp gauge.

That made a big improvement in rider comfort & engine perf in summer heat on my bike, but if your expecting to not feel quite a lot of heat from an air cooled HD v-twin in summer heat in traffic or 2 slow road speed even with cooling mods then you have unrealistic expectations.

BTW,I also installed Vieds on my 09,they did in fact improve engine perf getting rid of the lean surge at cruise it had along with also improving/smoothing idle a bit & sharpened throttle response too.

But in my bikes case the Vied's didn't seem reduce heat coming from the motor and didnt show any reduction in oil temp gauge either which could be due to the 2 cooling mods i installed on the motor that had already reduced oil temp 50+deg f in summer heat.

I have the RJS Originals heat deflectors. A little pricey but I love them.

Why not just a pair of heavy leather gloves under seat cuz I already got frame heat deflectors? Anybody tried that?

Love my Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. I put it on every summer and it makes a big difference in the heat on my inner thigh from the rear jug. (You can see it in my profile picture.)

It seems my a$$ is hotter since doing cat removed a night rider fuel mod. Will this block heat from under seat and reduce as$ sweat?

Coupon Code?

The key to any heat shield is the air barrier between the foil barrier and you. I glued Radiant Barrier to the underside of my Hammock Seat, which works well as there is an air gap. I did the same with my OEM seat, but don't notice much difference as there is no gap. Maybe I am spoiled and it does help. I just don't feel as "cool" as I do when riding on the Hammock seat.
