Okay, so the engine is a newer Harley crate Evo...1999 spec I believe. The bike is a 1989 FLHTCU. Rebuilding the engine. Cometic has different gasket kits available but options are a little limited when it comes to kits available with .030" head gaskets included. And costs naturally are cheaper with kits.
There are complete gasket kits for 92-99 with .030 head gaskets but I think that there may be complications with the primary gaskets.
Almost thinking that I'll need to order a
92-99 top end kit (C9850)
93-99 cam service kit (C9624F)
80-93 FLT, FLHT, FXR primary gasket kit (C9889)
Not sure if anyone has ran into this kind of situation.
I'm sure they are. The problem is that the engine is a 99 bike is an 89. Cometic has complete motor gasket kits but don't see them with the .030 head gaskets available. The kits available with those head gaskets in the kit are complete gasket kits and top end kits.
