So was putting my new Super Shox on my Street Glide yesterday. Simple job right. Well I was using my Black Widow scissor jack that I have had for about 2 years with occasional use. Well the bike came crashing down when the lift broke mashing the fender onto the tire. Luckily my hand was not in there. If I would have been doing anything with the rear tire I would have broke my hand at a minimum. If the tire would have been off it would have caused a lot of damage to my ride. Looking at it the cheap a$$ threads pulled out causing it to collapse.
I just ordered another one but I went with a Titan Lift. It has a locking safety bar that would have prevented this from happening! Just an FYI to everyone to be safe.

First and foremost glad that you and bike are ok. But that being said that set up just looks cheap as hell. I don't know if there is anything else out there that will work better but the original one just looks plain cheap.
It is. Hopefully the Titan is a little better. Never used on the ground although many people do. Simple frame jack for when it is on the table. A K&S or Handy one is $399 which seemed a little ridiculous.

So whats a insurance claim cost for the deductible when one would drop there bike off there own cheap jack? id be willing to bet its more then the 399 cost for a good jack. Plus no insurance hike rates after the claim. Seems like it would pay for itself with one less insurance claim. Its all in perspective.
Titan addresses it with the lock pin. It's not perfect, but it's a whole lot better than just an acme screw thread. You do want to lower down onto that pin, relaxing the screw.
Yes J&S jacks are nice but they will not fit on the table nor would I want something with wheels. I was looking for a frame jack to be used on the table for easy wheel access. Hopefully the new one will fit the bill. My table is a Titan and have been happy with it so far.
