Looking for a new seat and was wondering what is better for comfort. Corbin says leather, Ultimate says vinyl.
I have never had a leather seat so no way to compare. I do know I slide forward on the stock seat and on long rides on hot days in fl monkey but sets in. Does leather help with that at all.
Had 2 mustang seats but thy didn't work for me.
probably going with a solo so any suggestions, experiences would be welcome.
I've had both and honestly from a comfort perspective I couldn't tell the difference. Obviously cost benefit is on the side of vinyl, and in my opinion maintenance as well.
I know it's not quite the same, but imagine leather wingtips versus plastic wingtips... I think leather naturally "breathes" a bit better, looks better, but is more delicate and susceptible to the elements. I much prefer the look and feel of leather seats (Corbin), but I can't say that the "feel" is necessarily "real."

My $.02
Yep, what Danzio said. I have toured all day and had no problems with non leather saddles, no monkey but either.
I have always rode vinyl with good and bad results , best was mustang but have a corbin solo tour on the way and ready to try leather now , my SGS seat isn't to bad I needed a little more room tired of my personal parts riding up towards the tank
I ride just about every day to work and the bike sits outside for 8-10 hrs. So either vinyl or cover the leather.
I would think the leather would be less slippery than vinyl so less sliding around.
Finding a seat is a pita!
I've had a leather Corbin on my Glide for about 15 years and its fine. It's been out in all weathers and survived and we're still very happy with it. However most of my bikes have had non-leather seats and I've also been happy with most of them. Which to go with? Thats more a case of choosing a seat IMHO and if it comes in leather I can't see any reason for not buying it.
