Default Tired?

I have an 08' ultra classic with a Dunlop (MU85B16) 402 on the rear. I want to replace it with the Dunlop E4. How big can I go with stock swing arm?

I'm running a 15080B16 on my 07 right now. It's a Michelin Scorcher. I have run an E3 in the same size. I have run an E3 in 16080B16 but it's a PITA to mount. It's also very close to the belt guard but it didn't rub on my bike. Your rims and mine for that matter are only 3 inches wide. 160 are supposed to be on a 3 1/2 inch wide rim. 08 is the same swingarm as 07.

Long story short. 150 is the biggest you should go IMHO.

I agree with RevBlk. There are several limitations, the main one being clearance between tyre and belt guard, which a 150/80 should do. Be aware that the fitted width of any given size of tyre can be different between brands, as they are seldom exactly the width written on the sidweall. 150 is also the max width that most brands offer for a 3" rim.

I currently have a 160 tyre, but that is on the recommended 4.5" wide rim, which helps to show that tyre and rim width is not intuitive!

I ordered the 160/80B-16 the 402 is a 150/85B-16. Hopefully if anything I might have to modify the belt guard by what I've read
