Ok believe we found the problem. The previous owner had installed a thinderjet on the carb. The hose was routed so that it was touching the jug. Got hot enough that it deformed it. Probably creating a vaportion lock. Just found it so he hasn't had a chance to check it out yet. Will let you guys know for sure when he gets a chance to test it.

Well If the thunder jet thing relocating & or fixing hose doesnt fix it then chk this out.

Since when given throttle slow motor & bike accell's fine its much more likely an issue with the accell pump out of adj , pump itself is bad on its way out or maybe even the carb & or tube the pump shoots the shot of fuel thru is clogged up too.

A healthy dose of 1.5oz per gal fuel of Chevron's Techron injector / carb / carbon cleaner for combustion chamber's -pistons-valves (Say's " concentrated " on front label!) can often clean that out & carb in general if thats the issue.

Seafoam is decent alt cleaner too but have found from using both over the yrs that in some cases Seafoam isn't quite as effective / strong a cleaner as Tectron's concentrated version is which i use in my 09 HD approx every 3k miles to keep excess carbon buildup from motor and injectors nice & clean for best enegine & operating performance @ all times.

I do the same for my cars too.

One last thought is since this is an older hd w-carb if it has the crossover fuel line under fuel tank that when clogged can cause fuel delivery / starvation issues that can give same symptoms at 1st too like where you ease into the throttle it's np, but hammer it and motor starts to run out of fuel quick and starts falling on its face which is same symptom as accell pump issues too so keep that in mind too.
