Smile Lowering

VMS lowering kit ordered. Arrived yesterday and putting on this weekend. Pray all goes well. Feet are flat but would like a little solid platform.

Welcome from NC. I went the shock replacement route for better footing. Depending on how far back your shocks go, will be interesting on the shock clearance to your bags.

Welcome and did you try to mod the seat instead? You still will have ground clearance and it's that's always a good thing.

I'm not sure what the name of the seat I changed out my original with but the new one allowed for me to be flat foot. Need more grip when backing up and for those unavoidable wet days.

You should not be 'backing up' while sitting on your bike! That is bad practice and can lead to disappointment. I don't believe any bike training course teaches it. If you were my size you would have backed up your bikes out of the saddle from day one! I can't flat foot my Glide and have no need to......

I don't know how you park a bike without backing in, you are either going to back or out. Most people back it in.

If I didn't back up...I'd never get bike out of garage.

OP, let us know how the kit works out.

Key word is "sit" when you back up. What grbrown was getting at is you should be standing when you back up not sitting.

Standing give you better suport/balance when backing up.
