Ride a Road glide thinking about upgrading from a half helmet to a 3/4 with a shield not sure I want a full face. Tried of getting beat up in the rain. Need input.
Not enough info. Need bluetooth? integral sun visor? Full front shield? I am looking for the Mrs. and there are lots of options.... anywhere from $80 to $500.
Also, is your head oval or round? For a start, look at Arai XC or CTZ, Nolan N40, Harley has a bunch with and without bluetooth, AFX FX-50, Joe Rocket Carbon Fiber, HJC IS-33 and GMax GM67. Plenty of range of prices and should point you on your way to what you want.
Have you thought of going into a cycle shop and trying a helmet on?
Go to Revzilla website where you can watch a video on ALL SORTS of helmets from full, modular, 3/4, and on it goes. They do a really nice job of demonstrating product. I too ride a road glide, and settled on a Shoei Neotec modular.
I recently bought a modular (Scorpion EXO GT920) and put a Sena B/T (SMH10-R) unit in it.
I did it only for safety reasons. When I was a young man riding sport bikes I always wore FF helmets. When I bought my first Harley I went with a 1/2 Helmet absolutely loved it. However as I get older I realize my reactions and awareness not quite as sharp as before so a few months ago I started considering the modular. Protection of a FF but you can occasionally pop up the front end and get a little more freedom.
I'm still trying to adjust to it and still prefer to wear the 1/2 lid but I am determined to get accustomed to it and hope eventually it will be my only helmet.
And yes, Revzilla is a great website to get educated on helmets and they offer free returns so you can try on with confidence. They have the best prices that I found also.

Thanks
Daytona 3/4, love it, super thin, lite, fits like a glove, $50.
I'm a fan of HJC IS-33. Has a flip up front shield handy in rain plus a flip up sun shield. Blocks out some noise but can still hear music and is comfortable, at least on my head.
+1 on Revzilla. Better yet, visit there Philly store on S. 26th St. and try on a few 3/4 helmets. They have all major brands to choose from and very knowledgable staff. They're next to Tasty Kake in the Navy Yard.

I have the HD version of the IS-33, got it during a big sale at the dealer. I'm happy with it. I like the integrated sun visor and the flip down full face shield is removable. I leave it off all the time except for road trips. I have J&M Elites installed in it and the install was pretty easy. I have a Shoei RJ Platinum also, but the only visor is a snap on one.
Definitely try on helmets before you buy. They all fit differently and work better with different head shapes.
+1 on Rezilla, they have great product review videos and will price match.
