I have had the best luck in the rain wearing a modular. I have a half+ with a visor and the wind blows rain up under the visor and in serious rain I can't imagine continuing a ride.
With the modular and a rainsuit buttoned up tight I've been in some real bad stuff and stayed pretty dry.
Modular is nice because you can open the visor and get some flow if the rain lets up.
