Pull the tail light lens off. The brighter of the 2 elements in the bulb should be for the brake light. If it stays on all the time most likely one of the brake light switches is defective. The easiest switch to disconnect is the rear/foot switch. If you pull one wire of the switch and the light remains on then the front switch is probably causing the problem. The front switch is located in the right hand handlebar control. It is a mechanical switch that is triggered by movement of the brake lever and usually very easy to break. The rear switch is usually a pressure operated switch activated by the pressure of the brake fluid when the pedal is depressed.

I pulled the foot switch wires, (passenger side bottom center) and the light stayed on. (I did pull the lens to verify both elements are light. One being brighter) THEN i unplugged the foot switch. No change. I volt tested both wires and both show 12 volts in it. The hand brake switch would make sence if its stuck..12 volts would still run both ways. Also, i never use chinese of aftermarket parts on the Harley.
