Just got my 2016 RK back from service yesterday. Came to me with two factory defects. One was a bad fork lock, just bad. The other was a small oil leak from a push rod. So I got the bike back yesterday and when I got home and was in my driveway inspecting for oil, I noticed a dent in my fuel tank plate. Should I make a big deal out of this? It's not that bad but I just got the bike 2 months ago. Pics attached
That's gonna stare at you until you get it fixed. I would say something. My dealer always takes pics of the bikes before they take it inside, so maybe they did the same.
They're supposed to be one of the top service centers in the country. I don't believe it was there when I brought it in. I think I would have noticed, but I can't be 100%
Those inserts are very soft metal. I scratched mine with something, and I would have had to powder coat it. Ended up selling it, found a take off CVO dash, beautiful. Installed it and sold mine and the buyer powdercoated it. I would at least try to address it and see if they will get you a new one, if they hem and haw about it, I would buy and aftermarket one, or remove and carefully press the dent out and powdercoat it or chrome would even look cool.
