I like the relay and agree it's the safest option, But to go back to the original question, if the ignition switch has capacity to power that 15a P&A fuse what's the difference between hooking up lights vs plugging a heated jacket into the accessories outlet? As long as my lights stay under 15a my ignition switch should be capable correct?

Agree most have used post #6 on that thread. Others have used the HD harness P/N 69200441 for the fairing bikes or 69200442 for the Kings and Softails w/ aux lights..

Yeah, I like the way I did it. No cut and splice, no adding extra crap...just swap the two wires and run the passing lamps off P&A....if the P&A can handle 15a run through the ignition switch I don't see why I would need to put a relay in just because I am hooking up lights, I just need to stay below 80% of the P&A capacity. Hell, the MOCO runs the passing lamps through the ignition switch with the harness design...and you can still run the 15a to P&A.
