I've had a 1998 Dyna Convertible. Would I like a Road King?

I stepped up to a 15RK last year. Think of this bike as a really nice Buick - confortable, cruises great, runs distance but your not going to slalom on it. I also have a WG, the RK does not handle like a Dyna at all but it is a terrific bike.

Yes, you will like the road king. My 09 road king makes my dyna fell like a scooter. At very slow speeds( or stopped) the dyna handles well. I have ridden some places , dirt/ sand on western desert "roads" and Illinois gravel, that I'm glad I was on the dyna, but once they are moving fast they are equal. At highway passing/cruising speeds there is not a lot of difference. The biggest difference for me is the ability of the Road King frame to absorb the weight of the passenger, so much so I took the pillion seat off my dyna.

I had a 2005 Dyna. I loved that bike. I had it set up with Stage 1 with Screaming Eagle pipes, Boss Bags, Corbin Dual Tour seat, forward controls and a detachable windshield.

I traded it for a 2009 Street Glide. I put a Mustang solo on it and a Fuel Moto Stage 1 with power commander. I put 35,000 miles on it in 4 years but never really felt the bond that I had with my Dyna.

Now I have a 2009 RKC that I bought this past March. I love this bike. Probably as much or maybe more than my Dyna. It rides and handles well and is very comfortable. I went with the 2009 because it is has the new frame but no catalytic converter. I looked for a completely stock bike because I was tired of the loud pipes after a 10 or 12 hour ride down the interstate.

Before I bought the RKC I contemplated another Dyna but I am very happy I went with the RKC. The only thing I miss about my Dyna is the forward controls.

The Dyna is a great bike but I don't think you would be unhapppy on a RK.
