You'll end up with too much compression for the cams and it WILL ping like he11!
I'd suggest that you spend a little more time than one night to make this decision. If you do it right, you'll be happy for a long time. If you do it wrong.... well, it's only $$$$.
guys, the bike goes in the shop tomorrow. I am looking at a 95 upgrade with S&S 210 cams. I have a 88 with a race tuner already.
Question: should I go with S Eagle heads and a more agressive cam??
Will I see a $1,000 difference?
Well, here's my $.02 I would go with a 98" kit from GMR, Revolution Performance, Hyperperformance...... I guess you mean the 510 cams hopefully you are putting in the gear drive. I put the S&S510 G's in over the winter and really like them. I myself would not use the SE heads. There are far better heads out there IMO. R&R cast D portheads are on the top of my list.
Ronk -- I went with the Revolution 98 stage I kit and couldn't be happier. With the 9.75 CR and reworked heads, the 37G Andrews cam has worked fine. Two up I can achieve 40 mpg and it pulls strong from 1700 rpm. I don't have final dyno numbers yet as I haven't finished a 1000 mile for brake in, but I have a dyno scheduled with Jamie at fuel moto in three weeks to tweak it up.
