Whew! You lucked out. Next time, you may land on your face, so you might consider a full face or modular.

For a great helmet selection and shopping experience, try www.revzilla.com. Ride safe!

Might I suggest that if you are buying a different helmet than what you had, try them on before buying. Different helmets have different shapes and not are all sized the same. Cycle gear has a wide selection of helmets. At least try on and find what you like and the size you take. You can always look on line after you know exactly what you want.

+1 on Revzilla and I'll add that Dennis Kirk price matches anyone, ships to you within 2 days. Shoei makes a great 1/2 helmet, ST Cruz I think it's called. Very comfortable with the Shoei reputation. It's about $150. Glad you're ok, biggest worry I have is deer and cars turning left. Good luck!

This is what I have and LOVE it. It's lite and doesn't catch the wind. I've been wearing half helmets since I began riding and picked this one up a couple years ago. I WISH I had found it sooner. It makes wearing it soooo much better. Good luck.

Can't say enough good things about the Pit Boss. Bell pioneered the "half nelson" adjuster in the back for it's bicycles helmets 20 years ago. Makes a HUGE difference at highway speeds... and doesn't want to slide up/back. My Skid Lid "disappeared" and it's the best thing that ever happened.

I spent the extra $$$ for a carbon fiber and was very pleased ... it's only a little lighter but it makes a difference.

Buy the Bell version with No HD Logo and less $$$.

I used to bounce between a full, 3/4, half and NO helmet... because each had it's tradeoffs.

A comfortable lid is the one you'll wear... and it will save your life.
Now.. the wind is always in my face (which is why we ride) and it's almost like a seatbelt. I feels odd not having it on... even for short time.

Ride Safe!

This, FFS do this! I lived in the Arctic for many years and bought almost everything by mail order. I can't even quantify the amount of stuff that didn't fit despite the numbers saying that it should.

I agree, i have a few new helmet's laying around, I bought a HD helmet with the flip down screen, great for rain, but tried on 2 of the same helmets, they fit differently, but were the same size and model, best to try on, Also ,i think Dennis Kirk has a no hassle return policy, Revzilla may too, both good company's
