Sit on bike extend arm straight out put a small piece of masking tape on the windshield. For a reference point.
Take measurements and figure out what you want.
Windshields are fairly easy to cut down yourself and there's a lot of information if you search Google and in the forums.
I believe the measurement of the RK windshield is center of the headlight half circle to the top edge. I like the windshield to be about 1 to 2 inches below my line of site.
Although I do have a windshield that is about 3-4 inches above my line of site. Have to keep it clean while out riding....but it is way better if caught in a rain storm.
