I bought my 12SERG in March. It had Rinehart true duals on it. The 110 ran pretty damn good, but I hated the sound (drone at highway), it was hot on my left leg at stops (melted rain gear hot), and it was hot going down the road on my right thigh. I had already bought a used Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-1-2 to put on my EGC, but I traded the bike in. I ordered a power vision from FM along with the full size cross over pipe and a set of Basanni DNTs. I installed everything and it ran good, little loss at the bottom end. I expected that. It seemed hot also. I rode it an hour and a half from home to go to a bike shop. When I left there I realized that I had lost the bolts out of the rear muffler hanger on the right side. I stopped by a home depot and bought bolts. Fixed it up and went home. Later in the week a noticed the heat shields were askew. When I started re-aligning them I found the collector was cracked! My fault for not re-checking my work. I called Fuel Moto in the off chance they were feeling generous. They told me the warranty is only for the original purchaser. Ok, no big deal, I expected that. It is my own fault and I bought it used from a member here. Life goes on and I'll get it welded.
There was a benefit run on Saturday and I didn't want to cause any issue with the bike by running it. Plus now it was blowing hot exhaust gas up the transmission and felt like a torch was being held to my inner thigh. I borrowed a factory head pipe from my buddy. Worked into the early morning hours Friday night to swap out the head pipes so I could make the run. I downloaded a map from the Power Commander website, loaded it, and started the bike. No issues, just quieter.
Now, I rode all day yesterday. It got pretty hot out too. The factory head pipe felt cooler than either of the other 2 exhausts I had on the bike before. What is up with that? Is the map I downloaded enough to cool the monster? The bike ran great without a hiccup. I just remember on my Electra Glide with the 96 inch motor and CAT I couldn't wait to get that hot s.o.b. off the bike. This setup now isn't bad at all. Could my lowers be the difference? Like I said in the title, I'm confused. I figured I'd be roasting like a pig with the CAT on there.
Sounds to me like you got a richer than stock map with the cat and the map you are running on your catless head pipe maybe on the lean side.
I can safely say, my 110 was the hottest running Harley I've ever owned. At 16 k it gave up the ghost. Replaced it with a 120R, I'm at 20k now, 120R runs 30 to 50 degrees cooler with more power.
The 110 suffers from low compression and really performs better at 10.5 to 1 with different cams and valve springs.
PS. What color did you get white, brown or blue. Mines white.

I was thinking cams and headwork over the winter. I was going to consult with Scott at Hillside first. I've been following this thread in the engine mechanical forum. I like those numbers.
