Spuddering
Hello all,
Need some help. My Uncle passe down a FLHT 1989. I notice after I have ridden 5 miles or so, it starts spuddering and cutting in and out. I changed the oil to royal purple and put in new plugs. I also put in new gas. It runs great till it gets warmed up, then starts spuddering...any ideas?

does it have points?
If so check them and the timing.
Also a faulty coil can do this when it gets warm or bad plug wire.
Check fuel lines might be vapor locking (but not too likley) after only 5 miles.
Did it sit for a long time?
Double check the intake manifold and carb flange.
Get a spray bottle of water. When it is warmed up
spray a fine stream of water at the manifold gaskets to the heads ( intent here is
to check for a vacuum leak letting it run lean) and also at the carb flange.
Work the throttle a little while doing the spray.
If so check them and the timing.
