Default quick connect sissy bar

i have a 06 rk classic and i have my quick connect sissy bar and i want to know if anybody put the docking hardware on
themselves and how hard is it? or should i let the dealer do it? i put the rider backrest bracket on myself and that wasn't
too bad.

thanks for the help. the instructions say i have to move my airline for my shocks, when i do this does it let the air out of my shocks
and if it does than i need a special pump to put air back in right.

Yes, you will need to move the shock air valve. You wont lose air when you move the valve. HD sells a special pump for the shocks, but there are substitutes for the pricey pump HD sells.

I did mine on an 05 RKC. You will need to move the air valve and the air will dissipate if you want the hoses to be correct. It is an easy task and well worth a do it your self project.

Have fun!

I have an 2006 RKC. Installed the back rest (sissy Bar) in 20 minutes, didn't have to move air valve it can
be a little confusing at first as Harley gives you so hardware. Just look at the pictures. Momma will love it.

I just had the dealer put the exact same set up on my 06 RKC.
Never thinking to ask about the total since it seems so simple it cost me 2 hrs labor for the install!!
I would do it my self and keep the money difference.

thanks for all the help. i had the bike at the dealer for the first service and asked about the sissybar and about the air leaking out, he said yes it will and i also will have to take the rear tire off to do it right. he said that since i have the bike in for the first service he would only charge me 1hr labor for the sissybar so i had them do it. i'm not really set up yet to be taken off tires and stuff, thnks again.

WHAT!!! That's a load of SH_T!!!

The only thing I found difficult was reading their directions. I reverted to my caveman ways and looked at the pictures. I also didn't have to disconnect the air valve. Just moved it to the new bracket. BTW, I think for the almost $300 I paid for that thing, they could have given me some better looking hardware/brackets. Sorry about the rant, but I get upset when I hear stealer stories like "having to remove the rear wheel" to put the QD hardware on.
