the warranty started in 2015 so I have until 2017. Do you guys think it may be covered under warranty. Anybody else done any paint work under warranty?
I think it doesnt matter what HDForums users think, I think it matters what your dealer and H-D think.
That rust looks a little heavier than it should be.
Do you keep the bike stored anywhere near any kind of pool supplies or other chemicals? I know chlorine fumes can have a bad effect on stuff.
I was gonna mention the same thing. Read a post a while back about a guy who parked his bike in the garage next to a locker that had chlorine and other pool chemicals. Somehow that stuff accelerates rust like crazy!

i definitely dont but I am not sure about the previous owner.
The exhaust clamps on my 2013 have done the same rusty look, could be a by product of rain water with road dirt being "cooked" on the very hot area. As far as the exhaust tips, I just sprayed some hi-temp flat black paint in the ends, just for aesthitics.
I had a similar bubble or bump on my 14SGS , front fender near rivet. Went to dealer he looked at it said we will get you a new one. They took pics said it would be at least two weeks. Ten days later got a call my fender was in and to come in early and they would install while I waited. On the clamps , when I replaced my slip ons I painted my clamps and crossover pipe with ceramic silver paint ,a year later still look like new. Oh the fender was covered under warranty.
