I am a second owner of a 2014 road king that was taken out from the showroom in 2015. The original owner was an older guy, bought it and then didnt want it. Anyways, I got it with 2500 miles on it and the first service done at the dealer. Thats a bit of a background for you guys..
Last week, i came from a 4100 mile road trip and after giving it a bath I noticed this.... Is this normal? Looks like bubbling to me. When I touch it, it doesn't feel like a bubble.
There's also a few rust spots on the bike. See pics below. Isn't it too early for any rust to show up? I know it depends on the climate and where its parked. I have always parked it in a garage. Rust hasn't increased in my ownership though..
the warranty started in 2015 so I have until 2017. Do you guys think it may be covered under warranty. Anybody else done any paint work under warranty?
Those spots of rust you show on the muffler clamp and inside the muffler are fairly normal. Those metal surfaces are not protected from the elements very well. The paint may just be a factory blemish. My 11EGC had a couple of little blemishes in inconspicuous areas. You could check with a dealer, but I think they won't do anything about it.
I agree the muffler and clamp is normal for a bike that sat for awhile. How does it look under the fender? Maybe a minor wreck or flood bike? How do the rest of the nooks and crannies of the frame look?

definitely not a flood bike. No accidents on it...
The bubbles are on the front fender. It looks ok underneath. No bubbles anywhere else.
That rust looks a little heavier than it should be.
Do you keep the bike stored anywhere near any kind of pool supplies or other chemicals? I know chlorine fumes can have a bad effect on stuff.
