2009 had the newer redesigned frame. If that is an issues for you , buy an '09 or later. Good luck.

yeah, such is life, there is always someone who will fart in the vicinity of your collective fruit loops! No Biggie on this end, I have no idea how the '09s and later bikes are . To be Honest I really don't care. I do know I got this bagger for low dyna money. If it fell apart tomorrow, I'd get it fixed and still be under the current sg market.

Old Hippie, I have an '08 FLHT, that now has over 108,000 miles on the clock. I still have a blast riding it, and overall it has been quite dependable. I've had no problems getting any parts for it, either.

If it has abs make sure it has been updated. This was not something that was a recall or something that was done without customer complaint. SB 1239(A) is where the info is located. Any dealer should be able to perform the update. It's .3 hr labor charge. The rear pulley should be changed to a 68t off a Japanese sportster and a new wider bearing should be installed. Easy to do, about $200 in parts, makes a difference when taking off. BTW having the exhaust routed next to the oil pan should raise oils temps shouldn't it? Seems counterproductive to do unless HD was trying to solve another issue and that outweighed the resultant oil temp increase. Anyway my 08 was been pretty darn trouble free.

The oil is a weep not a leak that will be there from now on... Not a problem but it will be there. Nothing a decent wash every 3 weeks won't take care. The oil smell will tell you when it is time to wash. lol
