Cant help with the 6th gear noise. Some of us have had the main shaft bearing and IPB go out several times. Either of those can make a chatter but mostly noticeable at a stop and mainly when the clutch is applied.
Interesting. I only notice the chatter in 5th gear at speed. When I was at speed(about 65MPH), I pulled in the clutch and the chatter went away. I don't think it's the IPB(although, I've been know to be wrong a lot!) In 6th gear, the noise(kind of a quiet, intermittent tapping noise) is what I hear. That noise goes away as soon as I let off the throttle.

Thanks! I'm hoping it's a "normal" noise. I know it's time for me to drop the tranny fluid and change it out. Speaking of which, I need to change out the primary oil as well now that I think about it.
