Read the information on RideOn's website on how the product works, there is a lot of good information to be had. I don't think it hardens, it remains fluid, but has some type of fibers that act as a plug as it's forced into the hole in the tire.
Yes,
I have seen several videos.
Also read multiple reviews.
Visited their page a few times also.
That is why i asked the questions since the information was unavailable.
It does not seem to become a solid.
So it would seem like it would be the action of a viscous fluid that is mixed with some kind of solids that move in the direction of the escaping air.
Since it seems to not harden or stick and it is washable/removable with water then would it not just wash away when going through a puddle?
Seems this might be the MSDS based on name of company and product name.
If this is the correct MSDS and if my understanding is correct.
Then labeled product might contain 45%-65% water by weight.
The product mentioned on the MSDS might also contain 35-55% Ethylene glycol by weight an ingredient that might be used commonly in antifreeze.
Might contain another 3-6 % by weight of fillers and 1.5 - 4 % by weight of corrosion inhibitor. http://www.ride-on.com/images/storie...DS_4-08-02.pdf
Using the dyna beads, or balancing beads or whatever they are called has worked outstanding for me. No weights and the beads just roll around in the tire and do a great job and no mess.
I use beads and really like em! No problems and reusable.
I been using Ride-On for 5 years and like it. Before I changed my front tire the last time, I took my drill with a nail size bit (I don't remember the size) and drilled four or five holes and each hole the Ride-On sealed the hole. It may not be perfect but it's better than nothing.
How does it seal when there is a puncture?
If it seals when exposed to air then why does it not harden when inside the tire that is full of outside air?
It would seem like it would never really seal but instead slow the release of air by pushing goo towards puncture.
Anybody left a sample out in a cup to dry?
I have this thing called a thermos. Its the most amazing thing.
i don't think it ever dries. if you get a puncture the fibers that are in the fluid migrate to the hole and plug it. cleans up with water and stays on the tire ,not the rim. i don't know if you coiuld it all over your back and in your hair. back in the day though you could get chain lube all over you, up and down you pants and shirt. this was on a bare bones ridge chopper though.
