2012 SG vibration question
Hello all, My 2012 SG has 22,000 miles on it. I am getting an intermitent vibration that I can feel in the handle bars and floor boards. It seems to be at around 70MPH and above. Could this be the comp, tensioner and primary chain? Thanks in advance for the help..

Check the bottom bolts on the transmission door to see if the exhaust mount is loose. A common problem on the touring bikes. If loose, pull the heat shields off and pull the bolts out and clean the oil off the bolts and in the holes and use locktite when you tighten them back up. Just had that done on my 12 RG and the vibration is gone.
Quick check is if you can move the washers on the bolts there loose. Hope this helps.

I would suggest you make note of the RPM at the time the vibration happens. Then ride at slower speeds in diff gear of course and bring bike to same RPM on tach. If vibration isn't there I would suspect tires/balance ? Did you make sure the rotation on the tire is correct.
