Ohlins stripped threads
I'm now wondering about whether Teflon or Graphite spray would be a good idea in the context of "lubrication"? It's entirely dry, so it cannot possibly attract any dirt in any way more than the aluminum on its own would do, I guess. Silicone spray I would not use as I do not consider that to be dry and would expect it to attract dirt/dust a lot.
I'm just thinking which of the many things that I have on my shed could be used best for protecting the threads.
And @Goose_NC: I always carry a rag (and many other things) anyway so adding a small bottle of WD40 wouldn't do much in that regard. But nobody here was talking about constantly adjusting, and prior to that: cleaning, anything. It's about when/if you do the adjustment at which point you would like your threads to be as clean as possible to make the (remaining required) cleaning as easy as possible. Typically, this will be at home and not during your ride. Unless of course you dumped your passenger mid trip!
