Yep nothing beats the real manual. When you get it, if you have a scanner/copier, scan copies of the pages pertaining to the project you are working on. Leave the actual manual in the house. This way you can get smudgies on the copies, make notes, etc. without messing up the manual. Just a tip that has worked for me. Jim

Just as others have stated. The factory HD manual is so much better. I have used Clymer manuals in the past and they are a bit generic. Spend a few extra dollars and get the HD factory manual. You will be glad you did.

I had a clymer and a factory when I did an 02 cam replacement and bearing and the clymer is much easier to understand. The factory manual is written for a trained tech and the clymer is written for the laymen. IMO

I bought a Clymer years ago and have bought HD ever since. If you're going to do your own maintenance and want to do it right invest $150 and get the Service Manual, Electrical Diagnostic Manual and the parts catalog. Best money you'll spend on the bike and will pay for themselves in no time.

Clymer is inferior and heres why. It tries to cover too many year models so you are always jumping to the paragraph that covers your years' differences. Too easy to go to the wrong paragraph and you have to jump around a lot. Been there, done that.
