OP - Thanks for the info. I've been looking for a lay-down, smoke tail-light for my '14 RK. If that Drag Specialties halogen bulb is not bright enough, I'm guessing you can probably find another red halogen with brighter intensity. Let us know how it works out.
I am working on my rear lighting as well. I am removing the stock turn and inserting saddlebag support turn signals and going with a R-B-T module. I was going to go with the smoke brake also but red LED is much cheaper. Is there a benefit to the smoke or really just cosmetic?
Cosmetic, the reason smoked is more expensive is just a scam. Maybe you can buy a red LED and replace it with the smoked lens?
I am running the setup you are talking about. I run a simple smoked replacement lens, and a cheap 3157 LED replacement blade style bulb. It's bright as heck, and MUCH cheaper than the options I have seen. Second pic is brake lights ON.
Edit: My turn signals are standard red 1156 bulbs and I use the run/turn/brake module.
