Default question about Sta-Bo bushing kit

im researching bushing kits for my swingarm, and ive got it narrowed down to glide pro and sta-bo.

my question is, do the sta-bo kits replace the big rubbet donuts, or just assist them? im pretty sure my rubber mounts are toast, and new ones seem to cost around or above $100/pair. whereas rhe glide pro kit gets rid of the donuts in favor of urethane pieces.

anyone got thoughts on this?

I don't know of any product that replaces the rear rubber mounts. Some bushing kits claim to improve stability of the bike, but my preference is to use a True-Track stabilizer kit, with a simple swingarm bushing kit and stock rubber mounts.

The Sta bo bushings go on with your rubber bushings.

the sta bo bushings go inside the rubber donuts. if you need to replace the donuts, you should do so. The sta bo bushings are a good product. I have them installed on my 04 road glide. In addition to the bushings, suggest you look at the bearings that replace the OEM bushings in the swingarm. They are usually a problem as well.

Call Kevin at Sta Bo, he is very knowledgeable and will explain how his product works. I use to live about 5 miles from him and he personally helped me fix my rear swing arm. The bike is totally transformed and rides 100% better with no rear steer.

if you have a 2001 down bike you want Sta bo I

if you have a 2002 to 2008 bike you want Sta bo II & ED 16

Actually the glidepro system does but I wouldn't use them.. They use cast Polyurethane for the bushing.

I installed the Sta-Bo kit with new HD mounts and the Sta-Bo bearing on an '05 Road Glide. Bike rides great and it very stable. My personal ride is/was an '09 Road Glide and the '05 was better handling than it.
