To tell it all, there are always risks when you "Go under the knife".
A few years ago, my Mother had knee replacement surgery at the age of 67.
We buried Her 5 days later due to complications from the surgery.
With the surgery completed, as they were moving Her around, a blood clot released and traveled toward the lung resulting in a pulmonary embolism. Oxygen, then non rebreather, then intubation/dialysis, then gone.
Her health had been good, longevity runs thru my family. Things happen, I guess.
I know this happens in only a small percentage of the time, but it can happen. It was compared to me like going under your house, cut the water off, cut the water line into and put it back together, turn the water back on, and when you open the faucet some trash will come thru from cutting the line. They tried everything to dissolve the clot or clear it, to no avail. The Good Lord just had other plans, I reckon.
Not to discourage you Lumpy, just telling it all, best wishes with the procedure and the PT, and let us know how it goes.

Just keep in mind that working the knee to death is not the answer for a faster recovery. Things have to heal, regrow and rest.
I did some aggressive workouts 1 month before surgery, it actually made things worse?? Go figure.

Yes you can actually hurt yourself.
It is good to be in shape, obviously but remember no pain equals no pain.

I know it's hard to understand this, but it's true for you (OP) or anyone who is contemplating this.

It's nothing that you can make happen any quicker than your body can heal itself period.
