once bars are postioned you can reposition the controls so that they fall to hand

probably same on 14's and newer

Thanks for the pics. I am not moving my bars, but the ingenious way you modified the tool to fit the job will be filed away for future use.

This reminded me why it can be beneficial to read posts that, on the surface, appear to have no bearing on any current projects you have going. The small details that can be gleaned can be priceless (or at best, time saving).

Thanks again, Mike!!!

same tool ( or the butt end of the screwdriver bit) used to tighten the tranny end cover bolts with the exhaust in place.

original spec was 2o ft lbs and many backed off and leaked- revised spec is 25 ft lbs.

if you have time, the DIY tricks and mods sticky has some good stuff

druski: Sit on your bike and place your hands where you are comfortable. If that is up, back or both, your bars are a nice reference. I went to the Wild Ones website where they have a diagram of where your hands are in relation to OEM. But the best way is to sit on someone's bike where you love the position....

I have a 08 ultra with H D heated grips my nephew has a 09 ultra with heated grips we both put the H D reach bars on they worked fine. The mother ship says they wont work to cover their *** the wire to the throtle grip will reach with only about a inch leeway so they say it wont work you have to pull the wire all the way through to hook it up then You push it back in and that makes plenty of slack in the wire. thes bikes are both fly by wire

Are these the correct bars: http://www.khromewerks.com/SWEEPER-B...1029-1277.html
Yes, those are the bars. Cables were fine, but I did use the wire extenders from Harley. Cost about $32 from the dealer. Everything else was good. I think you will have to replace your mirrors with the handlebar mounted ones as your wrists will be in the way of the fairing mounted ones. Good luck.

I have put Wild One 12.5 Chubbys on my last 2 Batwing bikes and love them. On my current 12 limited the heated grips work great. If you have someone else install them tell them before final assembly let you set on your bike for placement. I have mine pushed forward but you can pull them back if you need. I use my fairing mounted mirrors no problem. Wild Ones also makes a 10" but you would have to use different mirrors. I'm 5'11" and wear a 34/35 arm length dress shirt if this helps.
Good luck...

I installed the WO578's with heated grips on my Ultra. It was the first bar install I ever did. The wire pull with the heated grips takes some patience and diligence, but everything went great. Took care of my shoulder stress. I ended up using inverted bar mirrors. Went with WO577's on my SGS .................. see both below.

Was out of the town and away from the computer the past few days (went down to Austin to watch the F1 race), apologize for not replying to any of the input.

I'll definitely check out the wild ones website, appreciate the suggestion.

For the Chrome wWorks narrow sweepers, are they internally or externally wired? I like the look of the bars and I believe 2" closer to me will be a huge help in regards to comfort.
