Default Handle bar replacement - closer to me

I really would like to have the bars on my 2010 UC closer to me. Wild 1 just released a bar that move them back 3" but I really don't have the $250 to replace.

Anyone aware of a lower cost option?

1st option is to loosen and rotate the bars back towards you.

I have posted on this with pics in the past.

your question comes up every week.

for some of us, just moving the bars to a new position works.

Buy these through an on line HD dealer like Boardtracker and get up to 20% off. Get your cables and everything else you need to take advantage of the free shipping when you meet the min purchase. I have W1 and they are a little wider too. Makes slow speed handling quite a bit nicer. BT sells aftermarket you just have to select it in your search when entering the P/N.

I'm with Mike! There was a time, for many years in fact, when every Harley I ever sat on seemed to have been built by a gorilla, the bars were turned up and away from the rider. As you rotate yours towards you the grips will get lower and closer.

Getting to the bar clamps to adjust them requires a bit of time and effort, may also benefit from having the factory service manual, but a new one of them is a darned sight less expensive than new bars! It's also a good read, if you ever suffer from sleepless nights.....

FWIW, Harley bars are a lot cheaper than the aftermarket - look into 'reduced reach' bars. $250 for a bent pipe? I don't blame you for balking...

If you look around CL and eBay you may be able to find a used set for cheap. I bought a very lightly used 10" wild 1 mini apes that I am yet to install. Ia waiting son the season to be over so I can install them. I paid $50 for them.
My RKC bars were low to begin with, but now that I replaced the seat with a police solo they really really suck.

A tip from another member: I installed 3inch risers and a street slammer cover over the tree. Brought the bars back and up and the cost was minimal. No cables were extended or replaced.

Default Krome works

Look at krome works 2+2 narrow sweepers. They might be just what you need. They are two inches taller than stock, and two inches more pullback than stock. I plan on switching to these bars over the winter. Reasonably priced.
