Default Heads and cams

Hello. I'm looking to do some motor upgrads and I'm looking at a set of se heads, part number 17071-03b. Does anyone know how these will work with woods 777 cams or se 255 I'm pretty up in the air. Any input is helpful. Thank you.

Why not get a set of heads from Fuel Moto to go with those 777? Most people will agree that heads from a reputable porter are better than SE, that goes for cams also.

Just depends on what you are trying to accomplish?? Got to go into it with a plan. Not all parts play well with others. Seems you know that by asking about cams and heads. Not a fan of Screaming Eagle parts. A lot of advertising for not a lot of performance. Fuel moto is ok. Are doing the build yourself, or having someone do it? I have had a couple sets of heads from these guys, http://tmanperformance.com/

What year bike and who is going to tune after upgrades? Also which exhaust system are you running?

Lots of good builders in the engine sub forum. Seeing that you're in ohio have you talked to roeders in monroville? They are a multi generation shop that has been building and racing Harleys for ever. The machine build and tune under one roof. No finger pointing between builder porter and tuner. They are very helpful in talking through a build.

Man I don't know what year and size engine you have.

But if'n your are gonna go as far as to pull the heads off.
I would change the pistols out and have the jugs bored so I'd have a larger displacement and higher Compression while I got the heads off.
Your so close when you pull the heads.

Great advice and yes, aftermarket will yield much stronger results then HD.

And there you have it. Best advice yet. If you or your credit card can handle it.....try really hard to increase displacement and step up to higher comp pistons while you have it apart.
When I went into the motor on my 06 88" RoadGlide I researched the crap outta builders kits. Came to the conclusion that it boiled down to ....

Hillside

Dragos

Fuel Moto

T Man

Then for me......it came down to Fuel Moto or Dragos. In the end I went with Frank at Dragos. He just had the best deal on the best "Kit" for my motor at that particular time. There is NO WAY I would EVER have gotten close to 110hp and 105 ft lbs of torque on my little 88" (Now 98") if I'd stayed with Screaming Eagle parts.

Usually it's a question of cost. Sometimes you can get a good deal on a set of used SE's
