You should ride a Heritage for a few years.

"...light weight and middle weight bikes and appreciate their flickability..."

Flickability. Great word! I seem to remember that in the street lingo of the French seaports a "flick" was a very impolite term for the cops. Probably pretty impolite cops too! But the metric riders, nimble describes it, but no so well as flickable...

(I keep word lists...always have, it's just me.)

Good Term! Thanks!

My first Harley was a 1965 Sportster, Kicker only, then a 68 sportster, kicker with a mag. My next was a 74 Shovelhead with a kicker and button, now I have an 03 Road king classic. I rode the sporty for 7 years, the shovel for one and the rkc for one. I'm 59 and rode them all in the last 9 years. An old mans bike is what ever this old man wants to ride. I would still have the sporty and shovel if it were not for the long distance reliability of the Road King. The sporty was awesome, the shovel was cool and the Road king.........well you all know about them.

thanks

randy

I got to ride his bike every now and then, and loved it! And believe me, whenever I rode with him, I used his bags...lol

8 years later, my dad has since passed away(cancer), and I've held onto his Street Glide. My wife has a '16 Street Bob, and guess what?! She uses my bags...

The circle of life continues...haha
What a coincedence - I was the same age back in 1974 when I bought a new FX. There were only two big twin models in the Harley range back then! I couldn't see the point of the dressers, but soon had a pair of bags on my FX, so was almost there! It took me a little longer to get a Glide, but the thought process was pretty short, like yours.
