How many of you have welded on 18mm O2 bungs to a head pipe that didn't already come equipped with them. I am not a welder and I don't know who around me may be able to do it other than Tman Performance. Don't know if they will or not. Perhaps the local HD dealer will do it. I just don't want to screw up a brand new head pipe if it isn't done right.
My problem is, I currently run auto tune pro with my Fuel Moto head pipe and it already has the 18mm bungs. I really want to go back to the V&H Pro Pipe as I had one on my Fatboy. But they don't offer it with 18mm bungs.
I absolutely love that pipe and I love the sound of my Jackpot mufflers w/ competition baffles and the Jackpot head pipe too. But its time for a change up. Every time I hear the Pro Pipe it makes me weak at the knees. Im about to order a pro pipe and sell my Fuel Moto setup if I can work out welding on bungs.
I am planning a Pro Pipe and too need 18mm bungs both for the stock system and the planned Dynojet AutoTune.
I did not know that V&H did not make an 18mm Pro Pipe, and surely they would have done so up to 2009?
If this is really not available today, then I too will have to weld them in.
Not a big deal and any decent TIG welder could do it, but be prepared for discolouration around the weld zone
A muffler shop MIG (or at least my local shop) might be a bit rough for my tastes
You should put the hole in yourself though to make sure you get it in the right place and have the proper angle.
When I put my Autotune unit in, the sensors were much bigger/longer than the original ones and I had a clearance issue with the sensor hitting the top of the tranny case. I was concerned that it was pinching the wire too much so I plugged the original bung and added another in a better spot for my setup.
Just make sure you know where you want it and the bung is set at the proper angle.

What danzio said.
Allot of places use MIG vs TIG (faster/easier/cheaper...) so if you want it TIG welded ask before you go.
TIG is nicer but nothing wrong with MIG.
What is the difference between the 2009 and 2013 pipes? The 2009 ProPipe has 18mm O2 bungs. Was there any changes between the 2009 and 2013 that would make a difference on mounting?
I'm a crappy welder, I still managed to do a decent job of installing bungs on my Rineharts with my MIG welder.
I don't think it matters how pretty the weld is when there is an ugly bung and sensor hanging off it.

No difference in them at all except for the 02 bungs.
