I'd also add the 68 tooth rear pully. The 08 had a 66 and is a dog down low. This little mod will really wake the bike up after your stage 1. That 255 cam is fine it is a stump puller. With a good tune and that rear pully the bike will pull effortlessly any time you need it to do so. I did a 103 BB kit on my 08 sg with the andrews 48h cam and the rear pully and it is a totally different bike. I love it and ride it more than my 16 sgs.

Glad to hear that the 255's will be fine, which the INDY said he will inspect for wear since they've been in there for at least 50,000+ miles, and if they're worn he said he can easily get a good set of CVO-255 take-off's fairly reasonable. The bike already has the 68 tooth rear pulley, that was my first mod when I got the bike as it was geared too tall with the stock 66 tooth pulley. Since the 103 S.E. stage 1 big-bore kit will probably increase compression I'll let him do the manual comp. releases when he re-does the heads which he suggested.

I would not run 255s in a 103 or 570s with stock heads. For a 103 with stock heads, I like Andrews 57s but they may be a little weak on the bottom for you if ya liked the 255s in your 96. You may look into Andrews 48s, woods 222, Tman 555torqster to name a few. I would really think about light headwork as long as ya are having them gone through anyway. Wouldn't be much more cash and will open up cam choices to provide a nice boost.
