I ran them for 2 years and only had the baffle break after 3 months but bub sent me a new pipe and all was good for the rest of the time I had them.I loved them but decided to change for a while.
After I finally got my bike reasonably tuned, the endcaps changed color. I will run these until they wear out, which from the looks of them is about a year, based on the chrome on the pipes themselves, not the shields, as it it is pretty much gone. Lots of corrosion.
Bottom line, feel like I wasted my money. Never again!
Had all kinds of pipes on all kinds of bikes. The finish on these pipes is hands down the worst. But the DEALER was all hot to sell them to me... said all kinds of wonderful things about them. Now when I asked if anyone had the endcap problems? Actually hung up on me! GRRR!

I would think... if they are changing color ... first thing I would do is test the temp of them. You say you have it 'tuned' but I wonder if you have it running too lean and there is too much heat coming out to change the colors of 'em. That is what I would check first off. I know there have been lots of posts about the caps changing colors... to purple.. or orange.. or even redish in color. Obviously it is due to the heat of the exhaust. Just wondering if it could be because your exhaust is 'hotter' than normal? Even seen pics of the Chrome end-caps of slip-ons changing to GOLD in color (again heat issue .... I think they are running lean and extra hot).
I actually stopped by Eastern Performance today and asked them what to go with. They told me definitely the RH duals and the PC. I listened to a set of the RH there and they sounded great and looked fantastic. They told me this would be the best setup for my '07 as far as power. I will be dropping my bike off tomorrow for the install. Will let you know!
I have had Rinehart TD's on my '04 EG police model for a little overone year and 20K miles and consider them one of the best mods to my bike.
Sorry to hear of the problems others have had. I personally have never heard the "chirp."
The guys I know with Rinehart TD's love them and enthusiastically recommend them.
One of the problems manufacturers have with DIY products is they don't control the installation process. So a company like Head-Quarters, for example, sells a 95" kit that will produce 100+/100+ hp and torque and a purchaser installs it himself ora shop does the install and the customer doesn't get 100/100 so the customer is callingHQ complaining about the kit. In reality, the problem is with the installation or tune--the components will do what is advertised when installed and tuned properly.Short of tearing down thecustomer's motor, how is the manufacturer supposed to solve the customer's problem?
Everyone has their own threshold for aggravation. For$1,000 in pipes and PCIII, mine would have been more than 150 miles. And if I had done the installation myself, I wouldprobably simply reinstall the pipes per the installation instructions using the High Temp silicone recommended, new exhaust flange gaskets, torque wrench, etc. per Rinehart's directions.
Given the probably statistically small number of people experiencing "chirp" with the Rinehart TD's, my bet is the chirp is the result of installation and/or tuning and not a design or quality defect in the pipe. JMHO.
I know when I purchased the Biketronics interface unit to have handlebar controls of the radio on my police bike I couldn't get the unit to work even though I was convinced I had the correct wiring on the bike, etc. Turned out I hadn't pushed thewires into the HD audio plug far enough; but that oversight took many fairing removals, the return of the unit to Biketronics to check the interface unit (since I was convinced that was where the problemwas--I was wrong), etc. I now have a perfectly funtioning Biketronics unit that provides handlebar controls of the headunit, but it took me nearly three months to find my mistake.
Again, sorry to hear of your troubles. But those are popular items and you won't have trouble selling them and getting most of your $$$ back.
